2nd Sunday of the Month - Bible Study
No Church Service:
From New York Times bestselling author Rachel Held Evans: a must-read for anyone on the journey of doubt, deconstruction, and ultimately faith reborn.
Eighty years after the Scopes Monkey Trial made a spectacle of Christian fundamentalism and brought national attention to her hometown, Rachel Held Evans faced a trial of her own when she began to have doubts about her faith.
In Faith Unraveled, Rachel recounts growing up in a culture obsessed with apologetics, struggling as her own faith unraveled one unexpected question at a time.
In order for her faith to survive, Rachel realizes, it must adapt to change and evolve. Using as an illustration her own spiritual journey from certainty to doubt to faith, Evans challenges you to disentangle your faith from false fundamentals and to trust in a God who is big enough to handle your tough questions.

Fundraiser for Katie “Lil Sis” Hamblin: Share! Let’s put a SMILE back on Katie’s face. Katie's stature may be small but let me tell you-- HER SPIRIT PACKS A POWERFUL PUNCH! Katie has had anything but an easy life. From suffering through horrific childhood abuses to major medical issues, Katie has certainly been through more than her share in her lifetime. Yet, she not only battles on, she continues to buzz around, finding ways to 'bee' cheerful and a blessing to others. Many may not know but these past few years have been devastatingly hard for Katie. Not only does she continue to deal with tremors, she has pains from the implanted wires for her deep brain stimulator (DBS). Now, for about the past year, she has been dealing with temporomandibular (tem-puh-roe-man-DIB-u-lur) joint disorder (TMJ). Sever times, Katie has been found in tears and uncontrollably sobbing because the pain is almost unbearable. She has had several appointments cancelled and/or pushed out due to no fault of her own. Usually, they push out 2-3 months as she struggles through the pain, praying for answers, hoping for some relief. After recently meeting with doctors in the Salt Lake area, Katie finally has a plan to deal with the TMJ. Part of that plan is getting braces. When she went to the orthodontist, she was quoted well over $6000.00 for the braces and treatment. She currently is on social security so she can’t save a whole lot of money without the risk of losing her benefits. She tried to start making payments but can't get braces until they have at least half up front. We all agree, what better time than now to help Katie! She deserves this blessing. Katie’s Birthday is on Halloween so we thought what better time than Friday 13th for a spooky night for a spooky girl!!
We have completed our fund raising for our church restroom!!! We are in the process of completing the project, cleaning up and have a Grand Re-Opening. Please look for details soon. Thank you to all!!
We are so grateful to the Basin community whom has supported our efforts.
